The water flume is a qualitative physical modeling tool that provides a visual indication of snow accumulation, wind patterns, wind flows and emission paths on and around buildings.
To the right is a visualization of wind patterns along the leeward side of a model. The model is of a research building located at the South Pole.

Here, RWDI's water flume has a model, on a four foot disk, and ready for water flume simulation. |
