  • Overview

“The Bow”, headquarters for the EnCana Corporation, was one of the first major developments in downtown Calgary to incorporate environmentally sustainable design practices.

  • Services

    • Drafts and condensation
    • Pedestrian wind comfort
    • Cladding wind loads
    • Structural wind loads
    • Stack effect
    • Snow load
    • Snow drifting
    • Building motions
  • Benefits

Early design guidance: Early information on accelerations and wind loads enables the structural engineer to make strategic design decision regarding the structural system

Improved Comfort: Ground level pedestrian areas are more comfortable with fewer adverse wind effects.  Identifying these effects early assists in optimizing the design of outdoor spaces for public use

Optimize naturally ventilated space: Assessing stack effect to identify significant internal pressure variances that could impede proper operation of doors, elevators, etc.

Reduced motion sensation: Evaluate motions on the top occupied levels of the proposed tower for motion perception and human comfort.

Reduced risk: Using RWDI-SkinTM to predict the risk of window condensation for a range of practical scenarios.
