Michael Soligo is the New President of RWDI

Michael J. Soligo (left) is congratulated by Past Presidents Bill Rowan (center) and Peter Irwin (right) on the occasion of his appointment as the new President and CEO of the RWDI Group of Companies. As an acknowledged worldwide expert in the field of wind engineering, Peter Irwin will continue to serve the firm in his new role as a consultant and as the new Chairman of the Board.

Formerly RWDI’s Vice President and General Manager of the Wind and Microclimate Group, Michael joined the company in 1988 and became a Principal of the firm in 1994. For several years, he served as Vice President, Marketing, where he was responsible for leading the firm’s business development efforts.

Michael is a microclimate specialist and has considerable experience in managing and conducting pedestrian level wind, wind pressure, wind loading, snow and environmental studies.

He has extensive international experience related to sports facilities, hotels, casinos, resorts and the development of unique pedestrian / spectator comfort criteria.

A University of Waterloo graduate with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Civil Engineering) and a Master of Applied Science (Engineering Faculty, Management Sciences), Michael is a Registered Consulting Engineer as well as a Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
