Taipei 101 Damper moves during 2008 earthquake

On May 12, 2008, the devastating Sichuan earthquake hit most of China and many nearby countries including Taiwan. The Taipei 101 tower in Taiwan, for which both RWDI and Motioneering provided services, was one important building that felt the tremors of the earthquake. Motioneering provided motion control services and designed, constructed and installed the world's largest tuned mass damper contained within Taipei 101. The video below provides a rare glimpse of the Taipei 101 damper in motion.
