RWDI opens office in India!

RWDI has opened an office in India. The new venture is called RWDI Consulting Engineers (India) Pvt. Ltd. and is located at the Technopark in Trivandrum, India. Trivandrum is a beautiful coastal city on the west side at the southernmost tip of India. It is populated with well-educated people working in the IT industry as well as in space research.

The inauguration of this office was held at the Malabar Hall of the Park Centre facility in Technopark on May 25, 2006. About 40 people attended, including an aeronautical group from the space centre located in this city, architects and engineers, as well as professors from local engineering colleges. Representing RWDI was Dr. Peter Irwin and Dr. Anton Davies from Guelph, and Dr. Salim Khan from our Abu Dhabi office. Also present was Dr. Suresh Kumar and his three new staff members: G. Dhanya, C. Cini, and R.V. Vinoth. Company Vice-President Dr. Anton Davies gave a good welcome speech. Thereafter, RWDI president Dr. Peter Irwin lit the ceremonial lamp to launch the India centre at Technopark. Various felicitations were also given, and followed by thanks from Dr. Suresh Kumar, director of Indian operations. Dr. Peter Irwin gave a very good keynote address with questions and answers following. With that, the RWDI (India) office was officially opened.

Right now, RWDI (India)’s operations are largely driven by the overseas market, but this office in Trivandrum has the potential to be developed as the Asian hub of operations for RWDI, considering its proximity to other Asian and Middle Eastern countries. The company is banking on the construction boom in countries like India and China to gain an early foothold in the region.
