Meteorological / Site Assessment: Bridge Numerical Simulations

Local topography can impact the direction of the wind, the wind speeds at deck height, and the turbulence intensities along the deck. The local topography effects could be studied numerically with RWDI’s Virtualwind code. Results are used to set the test wind conditions for the sectional model study and / or aeroelastic model study and to arrive at accurate loads due to wind buffeting.
