Stoyan Stoyanoff

In 2007, when Stoyan had the privilege of climbing to the top of the 200 m tower of the Verrazano Narrows Bridge and gazed down New York Harbor toward the Manhattan skyline, glaring down at him from the bridge’s main cable was a falcon. "The feeling of shear size and power of this gigantic structure -- the sixth longest span in the world -- is dear to any engineer," says Stoyan.  "It’s one of these revealing moments in my life that keeps me focused on bridge work."

Since joining RWDI in 1993, Stoyan has worked on many of the world's iconic bridges and buildings, including Golden Gate Bridge; Tacoma Narrows Bridges; London's Millennium Footbridge, Las Vegas’ Eiffel Tower, and Moscow's Federation Tower.

"After I'm finished my work at RWDI, I will be delighted if people say, 'Stoyan helped this be the best wind engineering firm in the world," or if they simply say, 'Stoyan has finished to good end what Peter Irwin began.'"
