When the time came for Peter Irwin to step down as CEO in 2008, RWDI sought a leader who could guide the firm into a new era of expansion. The board of directors chose Mike Soligo, the General Manager of RWDI’s Wind and Microclimate division. An engineer by training, Mike’s greatest accomplishments since joining the firm in 1988 have been in marketing, client relationships, and business development. That’s precisely the background needed at a time when growth for RWDI is coming through integrated services and communicating the value of integration to clients.

Mike is ensuring the company remains “client-focused, and relationship-focused.” He wants RWDI’s projects to remain as exciting for the new generation of young engineers as it was for him and his leadership team, many of whom have been with RWDI for over 20 years.

“The key,” says Mike, “is understanding what clients need, developing technical capabilities that meet or exceed their expectations, and delivering services that make the people who hire you more successful.”
