Glenn D. Schuyler

Glenn joined RWDI in 1981, coming from Canada’s National Research Council, because he wanted more challenge. His first assignment was far from boring: design and build RWDI’s Wind Tunnel #1 in Guelph, where a large percentage of the company’s wind projects have been tested ever since.

Over the years, Glenn has become an expert at most of the disciplines offered by RWDI, including wind engineering, air-quality modeling, industrial and laboratory ventilation, noise, acoustics, and sustainable design. “Clients today want more consulting and education, less laboratory testing, and earlier design input,” says Glenn. “Integrated and sustainable services are the way of the future.”

Devoted to engineering, Glenn has a passion for rehabilitating old structures. His home, which is 140 years old, was in a state of “benign neglect” when he and his wife bought it.  They have gradually upgraded it and consider themselves stewards in temporary possession of an heirloom. On summer weekends, Glenn applies the same skills to a derelict fishing camp near North Bay that his family purchased several years ago. It sat for many years unsold and unwanted until the right man came along. “You have to love this kind of stuff,” he says.
