Aimée Smith, Principal, is a Project Director specializing in exhaust re-entrainment studies for the design of building exhaust and air intake systems for laboratory, health care and other non-laboratory facilities (e.g., mixed use hospitality/residential and retail facilities). Aimée provides design ideas to clients; provides technical direction, and ensures quality control measures are followed in RWDI work. 

Aimee’s primary area of expertise is exhaust dispersion and re-entrainment studies.  This involves an in-depth understanding of wind flow behavior around buildings and how this will affect the local microclimate and ultimately exhaust dispersion.  Aimee gained her knowledge in this area through years of working as a project engineer and completing many exhaust re-entrainment studies involving both numerical and physical (wind tunnel) dispersion modeling.  Now a Project Director, Aimee continues her involvement in exhaust dispersion projects, but is also branching out into many of RWDI’s other technical disciplines.  “One of the greatest things about working at RWDI is the amount of expertise we have in-house,” says Aimee.  “There is always something new to learn and never a dull moment”.
