RWDI Desktop Dilution Calculator
The RWDI Desktop Dilution Calculator (DDC) is a tool that can be used to approximate the dilution achieved from an exhaust to a fresh-air intake location, and can help in the placement of equipment early in the design process.
The DDC is a conservative screening-level tool intended to make conservative 'first cut' dilution and recirculation zone estimates to aid in the design process. More detailed modeling may be required to achieve an optimum design in minimizing exhaust re-entrainment impacts.
Building designers can compare the dilution estimates furnished by the DDC to dilution criteria to judge acceptability, or use the dilution values to furnish 'concentration at intake' estimates. More details and tips can be found in the Technote Optimizing Exhaust Stack Design and Placement.

Design Consultation
Prior to the completion of design drawings, an initial design consultation is useful to ensure that applicable dilution criteria are met, provide early feedback and provide recommendations of the type of assessment most beneficial for the design.
Assessment
Based on the maximum cost / benefit advantage for the client, RWDI will select the appropriate assessment method.
