 Sun / Shade / Glare

Sun / shade / glare patterns can have significant impact on the comfort and aesthetics of a street plaza, sports facility, or landscaped area depending on the local climate.  For example, the introduction of a new structure can create modified sun / shade patterns or introduce glare from its material surfaces, thus creating a less comfortable environment.  Such effects on the microclimate can be simulated with computer programs which identify patterns throughout the year, thus allowing the impact to be assessed and, where needed, allow for solutions to be incorporated by the design team.

Sun / shade issues are also a component of RWDI's overall thermal comfort studies in locations where the presence, or lack of the sun's rays can lessen the users' comfort.

RWDI can provide more than modeling capabilities to the design team.  The company's understanding of sun / shade and glare is another important component of the firm's ability to help create buildings that are highly usable and comfortable.
