 Lincoln Financial Field

Open air football stadium with a seating capacity of 66,000.

Location

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Services provided

Wind Loading

  • Wind tunnel tests to determine the cladding and structural wind loads for the design of the east and west roof canopies

Sun / Shade / Glare

  • A sun / shade study to produce renderings of the shadow patterns for various times and dates to determine the degree of shading that would occur on the stadium field

Roof Snow Loading

  • A water flume test to assess the magnitude and distribution of snow loading on the east and west roof canopies

Pedestrian Comfort

  • Wind tunnel tests to assess the wind environment in and around the stadium in terms of pedestrian comfort and safety

Wind Engineering

  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) study to identify the wind flow characteristics at and above the playing field to assist with predictions on the play of the game
